Mark A. Rothman


Mark Rothman is from Woodbury, NY. He attended State University of New York College at Cortland, NY, and then attended and graduated from Florida State University.

Mark graduated from Nova Southeastern University Law School, in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. He was admitted to the Florida Bar in 1992.
 
After working in a law firm for a year, Mark founded The Rothman Law Offices, in Tampa, in 1993.
Since then, Mark has added other lawyers to The Rothman Law Offices team.


Mark’s practice focuses on probate, estate planning and asset protection, wills and trusts, as well as small business law. 
Mark handles a variety of transactions for his small business clients, such as buy/sell agreements, partnership agreements, setting up corporations/LLC’s, as well as assisting his clients with buying or selling their businesses.
 
Mark is a member of the Carrollwood Area Business Association, the Central Pasco Chamber of Commerce, The Centre Club, and the Citrus Park chapter of Business Networking International.
Mark is the former President of the Town & Country Chamber of Commerce, and the former
General Council for the Upper Tampa Bay Regional Chamber of Commerce.
 
Mark enjoys public speaking, and often speaks for various professional and civic organizations,
as well as senior living communities throughout Tampa Bay.
Mark founded The Edith J. Cohen “Send Kids to Summer Camp” Foundation in 2002,
which financially aids children to attend summer camp each year.
He was the co-chairperson in 2002 and 2003 for the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life in Oldsmar, FL.
 
Mark is married to his wife, Kim, and they have two cats – Butchie and Shawnie.

Jan Andrew Press

Jan Andrew Press is from West Hempstead, NY. He attended Clark University, and then attended and graduated from State University of New York College at Oneonta, NY.

Jan graduated from Tulane University College of Law, in New Orleans, LA. Jan was admitted to the Louisiana bar in 1980, and then the Florida Bar in 1982.

Jan’s area of practice is Criminal Defense. He defends clients charged with felonies and misdemeanors, traffic violations and DUI’s, robbery, fraud, drug possession, criminal assault, and white collar crimes.

He is a former State Prosecutor, with the sixth Judicial Circuit of Florida, prosecuting traffic, Baker Act, misdemeanor and felony cases. Jan is a member of the Clearwater Bar Association and the Pinellas County Criminal Defense Lawyers Association. Jan is married to Anna, and they have a son.

Kim Rothman
Marketing Director

Kimberly D. Rothman, Marketing and Public Relations Director with The Rothman Law Offices, grew up in Salem, Indiana.  Kim moved to the Tampa Bay area in 1990, after graduating from Indiana University, and then met her husband, Mark on a cruise in 1993.
 
Kim spent a number of years in the medical and diagnostic imaging industry, and the last seven of those years, she traveled extensively. Kim joined her husband, Mark, in his law practice in 2002, further using her marketing/P.R. skills. 

Kim is very active and involved in her community, and enjoys doing volunteer work.  She is President of CABA – the Carrollwood Area Business Association, as well as a Board of Director for the Central Pasco Chamber of Commerce.
Kim and Mark share their home with two “furry” sons – Shawnie and Butchie – their cats.   Kim enjoys spending time with her family and friends, reading and cooking.

Dawn Hindes
Legal Assistant

DAWN HINDESDawn Hindes, Legal Assistant with The Rothman Law Offices, grew up in Palatka, FL.  She graduated from Palatka High School, went on to attend St. Johns River Community College, and is currently working toward a Business Management degree at the University of Phoenix.  Dawn moved to Tampa in 2003.
 
Prior to coming to Tampa, Dawn’s husband, Tom was in the United States Air Force.  Dawn and Tom moved several times, having the best experience in Arizona, where they added two daughters to their family.  The most recent addition to the Hindes household is Ben – he has four legs and barks a lot.
 
Dawn’s work background consists of hotel management and telecommunications.  Dawn is also a Home Interior Consultant in her spare time.
 
Dawn enjoys volunteering at her daughters’ school and spending time with her family and friends.  Dawn says “She is proud to be a part of the Rothman Family”, so “Let Our Family Help Yours!”

Vanessa Guzan
Receptionist

Vanessa was born and raised in the Tampa Bay area. She graduated from J.W. Mitchell High School in 2004 and is currently attending St. Petersburg College.

Vanessa plans to transfer to the University of South Florida in the near future and pursue a degree in Communications. She hopes to one day be a freelance photographer or own her own photography studio. 

In her spare time, Vanessa likes to travel, cook, and read. She is also an avid sports fan and supports all of the local Tampa Bay teams. Football is her favorite and she enjoys going to USF games with friends.

She is very close with her family and loves spending time with her golden retriever, Brandy

Diana Coen
Attorney

Diana CoenDiana Coen recently moved to Tampa from Long Island, NY, where she was born and raised.  Diana graduated from Long Island University, C. W. Post Campus, with a B.S. in Criminal Justice.  She then attended law school at Touro College Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center in NY.  Diana was admitted to practice law in 2003.

Diana’s primary focus since beginning the practice of law has been Elder Law, specifically Guardianships and Medicaid Planning.  Diana will continue to focus in these areas as well as Probate, Estate Planning and Asset Protection.

Diana enjoys spending time with her family – especially her niece and nephews, her friends, and her dog, Brady (she is an animal lover and a former veterinary technician).  She also enjoys reading, playing and coaching soccer, and country line dancing.

 

George Melendez
Attorney

George MelendezGeorge Melendez was raised in the Carrollwood area of Tampa from the age of seven.  After graduating from Jesuit High School, he attended Furman University in South Carolina and returned to Florida to attend law school at Nova Southeastern University. After obtaining his Juris doctor at Nova Law, George chose Carrollwood as his community to settle.

George has worked with the 6th Judicial Circuit Office of the Public Defender for the last three years.  He will be practicing civil litigation with in our firm, such as Real Estate Law and Family Law, including Divorce,  Child Custody, Visitation and Support, Property and Marital Settlement agreements.

George enjoys spending time with his girlfriend Kelli, and his dog Rocky. You can frequently find him cycling, running, reading and meddling in the art scene in the community.
